Financial Aid
PMI may offer financial aid to help pay for your tuition. Once you’ve been accepted into our school, all you need to do is meet with the Financial Aid staff to determine your eligibility. It’s painless and very worthwhile. We like helping out when we can. Here are some of the Federal financial assistance programs at our school:
Federal Pell Grant:
Provides grant aid to undergraduate students who have financial needs and meet other requirements for student financial aid. Maximum award for each academic year will depend on student and program of training eligibility. Pell Grant is an entitlement. The maximum award is not dependent on program funding..
Federal SEOG
(Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant)
Maximum award for each academic year will depend on program funding. This program is for undergraduates with exceptional financial need (evidenced by an expected family contribution of zero) and does not require repayment.
Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan
A low interest loan for eligible students. Repayment begins six months after the last day of attendance. The government pays all interest while the student is in school and during the six month grace period.
Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan
A low interest loan for independent students and dependent students not eligible for the Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan. The government does not pay interest on this loan.
Federal Parent Loans for Undergraduates
A low interest loan. Eligible parents may borrow for the benefit of their children.
Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership
Maximum award for each academic year will depend on the availability of funds. This is a grant and does not require repayment.
Campus Based Funding
How much aid you receive from campus-based programs depends on your financial need, the amount of other aid you'll receive, and the availability of funds at Pima Medical Institute. Unlike the Pell Grant Program, which provides funds to every eligible student, each school participating in any of the campus-based programs receives a certain amount of funds each year. When that money is disbursed, there are no additional awards for that year.
Job Placement
Pima Medical Institute is serious about finding jobs for our graduates. The Career Development Director and members of the faculty together help students achieve real life positions in their chosen fields. While the school cannot guarantee placements, we have been successful in placing the majority of our graduates. That’s important to know. To help students transition from program to profession, PMI provides externships that often turn into job offers. We also maintain active files on graduate placements and employment opportunities. In other words, we continue to share job opportunities even after the PMI graduate has secured employment! PMI will help you as long as you need. Your ability to get a job is a direct reflection of our school…so we really care about your success.
