Renton, WA – Pima Medical Institute’s Pharmacy Department Hosts Presentation on Medication Safety
The Pharmacy Assistant students at Pima Medical Institute’s newest campus at 555 South Renton Village Place recently presented a special presentation on the proper care and use of prescriptions in recognition of Medication Safety Month in April. The one hour presentation included that: even medications with safety caps pose a hazard to our children, and clearly understanding what medications you are taking.
“Anyone who has ever been sick or in pain is acutely aware of the benefits of the medications a doctor prescribes,” said Bob Panerio, campus director for the Renton campus. “However, if stored improperly, used after the expiration date, or shared with someone who has not been seen by a physician, the effects can be detrimental. Our pharmacy technician students did a fantastic job of educating their fellow students and staff about this subject and we were pleased to highlight this important topic during Medication Safety Month.”
