RESPIRATORY THERAPY STUDENT SELECTED STUDENT OF THE YEAR
Denver, CO – Pima Medical Institute’s Vicki Hedberg Wins Award in the Allied Health Specialist – Clinical Category
The staff and students at Pima Medical Institute, 1701 W. 72nd Ave. Suite 130 in Denver are puffed up with pride after learning one of their Respiratory Therapy students, Vicki Hedberg, received the 2005 Student of the Year Award in the Allied Heath Specialist—Clinical category. The award is given by the Colorado Private School Association (CPSA) and The Denver Newspaper Agency each year to a deserving student within all of Colorado’s Private schools.
Hedbergs was chosen for the award based on her commitment, performance, and leadership/professionalism. Nominations are submitted by schools that are members of CPSA through an application and essay written by the student’s instructor.
“Vicki has been a phenomenal role model for our students”, said Amy Brown, RT program director for Pima Medical Institute’s Denver campus. “Her academic achievement is impressive, her class behavior and participation is exemplary, and her community and professional involvement is admirable. While it is easy to speculate on the success she will have in the future as a respiratory therapist; as an instructor it is far more rewarding to identify the positive impact Vicki has already had on our school, our program, her classmates, and our community."
Hedberg is currently enrolled in the Respiratory Therapy program. Graduates of the 88 credit-hour program receive an Associate of Occupational Science degree. The Denver campus also has programs for Dental Assistant, Medical Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Ophthalmic Medical Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiography Technician, Respiratory Therapy and Veterinary Assistant.
