Denver, CO – PIMA MEDICAL INSTITUTE HIRES RESPIRATORY THERAPY PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Pima Medical Institute, 1701 W. 72nd Ave. Suite 130 in Denver announced that Amy Brown, RRT, has been hired as the Respiratory Therapy Program Director.
Brown has served as the Clinical Director of Education for the Respiratory Therapy program at PMI since 2003. Prior to working at the career college, Brown worked as a respiratory therapist at Presbyterian St. Lukes Hospital in Denver where she was a member of the pediatric and neonatal emergency air transport team.
Brown will be heading up a program with numerous accomplishments. In 2005 the Respiratory Therapy program at PMI was the recipient of the Health Educator Award from the American Lung Association of Colorado. Student, Vicky Hedberg, was awarded the 2005 Student of the Year Award in the Allied Heath Specialist—Clinical category.
“Amy is a true leader,” said Sue Anderson, campus director for the medical career college. “She successfully met the challenges that face a growing and dynamic department and played an instrumental role in developing the excellent reputation our program has received in the Denver community. We know we can continue to expect great strides in the respiratory therapy program under her direction.”
Graduates of the 88 credit-hour respiratory therapy program receive an Associate of Occupational Science degree. The Denver campus also has programs for Dental Assistant, Medical Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant, Ophthalmic Medical Technician, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy Technician, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiography Technician, Respiratory Therapy and Veterinary Assistant.
